Sovereignty, Hierarchy, Emancipation and Individuation are the four laws which will reign in heaven and give life meaning in the coming age.
The coming age has already come, it just isn’t consummated yet. In the next decade, civilization may collapse for a number of reasons, either through sheer self-destruction or because something new will hatch out of it. But even in the case of the seemingly best possible outcome, human life as we understand it will lose its meaning.
I only know how to address the challenges that would go along with the best outcome, and to make suggestions which, if followed, might lean fate in its direction. Let’s take a scenario where we’ve used quantum computers, nuclear fusion, and automated manufacturing and logistics to build a world where no one has to work any longer, there are no real medical problems, and there are no artificial limits on knowledge and expression. What kind of civilization should be built on this technological foundation?
